Ransomware occurs. What now?
In CONTAIN, ransomware stands for a threat from the digital space that can be existential.
Private individuals, companies, authorities and supply chains must prepare for threats from the digital space.
CONTAIN is researching three scenarios:
- Ransomware on a personal device such as a smartphone
- Ransomware in a company or public authority
- Ransomware in a supply chain
CONTAIN’s key research findings are:
- CONTAIN framework for effective and efficient cyber incident response
- Serious games for improved support in preparation
- Simulation models to visualize processes and effects
- Reference scenarios, process models, roadmap for auditing and certification
- Procedure for liquidity in a crisis and cooperation with cloud and logistics service providers
- Information security measures and security-by-design solutions for digital currencies
- Methods for conducting exercises
All research results will be made available to the public via the website and demonstrated in a large-scale international exercise.
